The RDS Search Engine searches for words and phrases exactly as they are entered in the Words and Phrases and Words in Title and Company search fields.  Use the * (asterisk) to manually truncate words to find plurals and variant word entries.

How to Truncate Words

Entering: secur*

in the Word and Phrases field will find variants such as secure, securing, secured, securities and security.

Automatic Word-Bound Phrase Truncation When Prefix Searching.
The RDS services apply automatic word-bound phrase truncation when searching in phrase parsed fields using a field prefix. This will generally occur when a search is performed using prefix terms. For example, entering CT=MARKET in the Word or Phrase field will find articles that are indexed to either market share or market size.  This feature is especially useful in the company name field, and when searching specific journals using the JN= prefix.
